Seattle also offers designated dog parks where pets can be off-leash in a controlled environment. The largest city park in Seattle is the 534-acre, oceanfront Discovery Park, which features a protected marine reserve. Other sizable parks near the Red Lion Hotel Seattle Airport include Green Lake Park, Seward Park and Washington Park Arboretum. Green Lake Park is a 323-acre oasis nestled in the heart of urban Seattle. The park is especially popular because of its 2.8-mile pedestrian and biking path that wraps around Green Lake. The forested Seward Park offers 300 acres of wild spaces for hiking, biking, bird-watching and other recreation. At Washington Park Arboretum, located east of downtown Seattle on Washington Lake, visitors can stroll among the 230 acres of spectacular forest.

Seattle Hiking.

Olallie State Park offers a one-mile trail that winds through an old-growth forest to the spectacular Twin Falls. Hike the trails of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness to Melakwa Lake, or follow the Pacific Crest Trail to the Kendall Katwalk, 1,200 feet above the valley floor.
